As part of Toyota's national marketing campaign for the third generation Prius launch in 2010, the company is "planting" giant solar-powered flowers in urban areas. The flowers generate electricity and provide free Wi-Fi for anyone passing by.
Meant to represent the Prius theme of "Harmony between Man, Nature, and Machine," the 18-foot flowers have solar cells behind their petals and at the base of the stem. The generated electricity travels down the stem to plastic green benches with 110-volt outlets.

EU fight against Internet child porn
A new coalition of police, Internet providers, financial groups and NGOs was launched Tuesday to tackle the growing flow of child abuse pictures distributed online, the EU commission announced.

The European Financial Coalition (EFC) -- led by Britain's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and includingMasterCard, Microsoft, PayPal, VISA Europe and the NGO Missing Children Europe -- will work together in the fight against child abuse images.

On the law enforcement side, the EFC founding members also include Europol and the Italian National Postal and Communication Police.

Spam increases: Symantec

According to a study done by Symantec, an Internet security company, Spam email increased during the last month.
Spam levels have reached an increase of 80% from last month numbers.
The origins of the threats have been quantified from the following countries: United States (27%), China (7%) and Russia with a 4%.
The themes are: Internet, Products and Leisure, Health and Finances.
In addition, the study reveals that the domains with the higher level of contamination are: .com with 68% and .cn with 18%
