La UE, policías y grandes empresas se unen contra la pedofilia en Internet
La Comisión Europea anunció este martes 3 de marzo la formación de una coalición para luchar contra la difusión de imágenes pedófilas en Internet, integrada por operadores financieros, proveedores informáticos y servicios de policía de la Unión Europea (UE).
La 'Coalición Financiera Europea' está encabezada por la organización policial británica a cargo de la protección infantil contra la explotación sexual 'Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP)' y dispondrá de un financiamiento europeo de 427.000 euros.
Entre sus miembros fundadores están las compañías de servicios financieros Mastercard y Visa, el mecanismo de pago electrónico PayPal, el gigante estadounidense de la informática Microsoft y la ONG Missing Children Europe
A new coalition of police, Internet providers, financial groups and NGOs was launched Tuesday to tackle the growing flow of child abuse pictures distributed online, the EU commission announced.
The European Financial Coalition (EFC) -- led by Britain's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and includingMasterCard, Microsoft, PayPal, VISA Europe and the NGO Missing Children Europe -- will work together in the fight against child abuse images.
On the law enforcement side, the EFC founding members also include Europol and the Italian National Postal and Communication Police.
